Navy Pier - Exmouth
|
Part of the stay in Exmouth involved diving the Navy Pier. This pier is about 20 minutes drive north of the town and its main purpose is to take on diesel to power the generators for the transmitter. This is a gigantic construction of steel towers 1200 feet high. It's part of the US communications network. A big thanks to Paul and Becky from Coral Coast dive centre for taking Leo and me there nearly every day. It can only be dived at slack tide as the current runs too much the rest of the time. So we dived it twice a day. There is all manner of life there as you'll see from these images. I hope you enjoy these images and if you go to Exmouth or anywhere in the Ningaloo Reef area make sure you give this site the time it deserves.
